Campaign For A New Castro Valley High School Stadium |
What's wrong with what we have?
A Diamond in the Rough The crowd roars from the stands as the Trojans score. After looking at the condition of the stadium one may wonder if the roar is for the team or from the splinters in the crowd’s rear end. Splintered bleachers is just one of the numerous problems with the Castro Valley High School Sports Stadium. The current stadium is 45 years old and seriously outdated. The bleachers are a patchwork of broken and rotten wood planks, the cinder track is devoid of cinder, and the jump runways are decaying gym mats. The underutilized football/soccer field is pock marked, does not drain properly, and has large patches of dead grass; and it is expensive to maintain. |
